Election season is upon us! The nomination period has been extended for the following positions:

-President

-VP Finance

-VP External

If you’re interested in running for any of these positions, the first step is to collect nominations. Print out a nomination kit here, or pick one up in the AUS office (Leacock B12). Collect 75 signatures (or 100 for President). Your signatures MUST be Arts students — you might want to collect a few extra in order to be sure that all the signatures are valid (we will be checking). The nomination form is due THIS Wednesday, February 13, at 4:59 p.m.

Fill out the candidate information and other forms included in the nomination kit (it’s nothing too demanding, don’t worry!) and return the package to the AUS office. Make sure an exec or staff member signs off on your form to verify that it has been received. Also, there are two things you’ll need to email to the Elections AUS staff: a pen sketch and a photo of you. A pen sketch is a short notice about you — platform, qualifications, skills — that students can read before voting. The photo will also be posted so that voters can put a name with a face.

Also, be informed! Please check out the AUS Electoral By-Laws here. Note that the by-laws will be strictly enforced, and it’s your responsibility to conduct your campaign in accordance with these regulations.

MANDATORY All Candidates Meeting: Wednesday Feb. 13th at 5:00pm
Campaign Period: Wednesday, Feb. 20th – Wednesday, March 5th at 5:00pm
Campaign Debate: Tuesday, March 4th at 5:00pm
Advanced Polling: Tuesday, March 4th at 8:00am – Wednesday, March 5th at 5:00pm
Election Days: Thursday, March 6th at 8am and Friday, March, 7th closing at 5:00pm
